NALS of Las Vegas, a professional legal association, is
the local chapter of NALS ... the association of legal professionals.
We have served the Las Vegas legal community for more than 50 years.
The chapter was originally founded in June of 1956 as the Las Vegas Legal Secretaries and our charter was reissued in November 1999 to coincide with the national association's commitment to its members to reflect its dedication as an organization open to all legal support staff including, but not limited to, paralegals, legal assistants, legal secretaries, court clerks, court reporters, etc.
As a member of NALS of Las Vegas, you automatically become a member of the tri-level organization which includes membership in the national association, NALS...the association for legal professionals, Region 8, and the state association, NALS of Nevada.
As a member, you receive @Law, the NALS Magazine for
Legal Professionals, the Region 8 Newsletter, and Silver State News, the
state association newsletter. With your membership you can also elect
to have E-Learn and E-News sent to you without having to go to the national web site. NALS also offers online training courses for CLE credits in the web site's Online Learning Center. Members can also receive additional education by attending chapter meetings, state meetings, the NALS Professional Development Conference every March in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Region 8 Conferences held every June/July, and the NALS Educational Conference held every October. Through NALS you can
also receive your certification as an ALS-Accredited Legal Secretary,
PLS-Professional Legal Secretary, and PP-Professional Paralegal.
Of course, the main benefit to becoming a NALS member, other than the education, are the members themselves. You will meet fellow professionals from around the state and the country who will be there when you have a question about creating and/or filing a document out of your area of practice or even outside your state.
